I'm the most original, the idealist, the visionary, the number one and that guy who was, with his eight years, left behind at a reststop along the Belgian highway. These things are not all completely true. accept for the last…
Yes I´m that guy who was standing on a reststop crying. That guy who was picked up by the police. That guy who sat for four hours on the Belgian police station. That guy who was spoiled by the police with soda cans and chocolate bars. These days that guy doesn’t get left behind along the Belgian highway. Nowadays that guy designs.

TypeCon is an annual conference presented by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA), an international organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of typography and related arts.
This year (2011) the typography event bursts free in New Orleans with the theme "surge". One of the reasons why people visit the event is to experience new "things". This experience of typography is core of the identity.
For the event I have designed a unique typeface and logotype based on the theme Surge. I designed the logotype as a three-dimensional object. The object has been produced in different material forms. The experiment is constantly different through the use of various materials and activities around it. The creative process is captured in cinematic teasers and posters. It's possible to connect the posters horizontal or vertical to visualize the continuous change and transitions.
"Suppose the Netherlands organized the 2028 Olympics"
Concept & system information
A medal doesn’t show the “real” sport achievement. Because a country with a low population, low GNI, little knowledge etc. can’t win a medal as easy as a country with a high population, high GNI, lot of knowledge etc. so the identity will give small (sport) countries attention. It shows the "real" sport achievements of nations which appear through a system. The system exists of several infolayers.
Example: The Basketball medalstable is being led by the USA with 24 medals. Lithuania is sixteenth on the list with three medals.Through the system is no longer Lithuania sixteenth, but it ends first place and the USA somewhere in the middle.
The first layer informs the reader about the characteristics of the sport. The lines shows how a sport measure winnings (with: time, distance, points) and the athlete shows if the sport is an individual
sport, with somebody or with a lot of people (max five lines because of the five Olympic rings).
Layer two informs about the quality / quantity of the sport performance of a nation. This is determined by medals per capita. The top three is also determined for who it a greater achievement is. This through the following five points: population, GNI, climate, life expectancy and sport culture. When a country performs good (wins) with less possibilities, the bigger the achievement. So the bigger the nation flag, the bigger the achievement.
The logo is created from the system elements ( / > - ). The three lines form a sporting athlete
and the Olympicflame (which was lit for the first time during the Games of 1928 in Amsterdam).
